Anne Cleminshaw again tested us with a 4 part quiz
which included completing popular proverbs, alas “Better late than…….” -
.PREGNANT was not a winner, and so “To the victor(s) go………….?” Janet & Harry
Hoskin.
The dawn of Easter Sunday brought 4 inches of snow
and we scanned the webcams of Yorkshire to see if the roads to York and the
start of the Daffodil run were passable. North looked better but by 8.00 am the
local roads were still treacherous and with the snow still falling we consulted
with the other locals and decided that “discretion was the better part of
valour.” Last year it was tops down all day and ice creams at the White Horse
at Kilburn. Global warming or what?
For those contemplating trading up: the 8th
May Natter is to feature a talk/video by Duncan of the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts
Club.
The routes for the Malton weekend and the Wolds Way Routes are now done and the
Road Books in preparation, so if Gordon doesn’t tax us off the road and the
weather treats us kindly the E.Y. “season” will finally get under way.
Wolds Way Run
11th MAY 2008 and another new route, a
beautiful scenic run of around 90 miles in the East Yorkshire Wolds,
starting at The Humber Bridge near Hull, and finishing by the coast at
Sewerby Hall, Bridlington.
Silverstone 13-15th June 2008
Sledmere weekend 11th to 13th

is held on the 1st Thursday of the Month
19 Natterers can’t be wrong. That’s how many we
packed into our small room at the Tiger Inn on the first Thursday lunchtime in
March. Why not come and join those of us fortunate enough not to be at work and
treat yourself to a tasty and good value lunch?
By now we will have hopefully enjoyed some pleasant
Spring weather for our first lunchtime run out to Wolds Way Lavender.
The next little tour we have lined up is on
Thursday 15 May, when we will be visiting Burton Agnes Hall.
After lunch in the café you can take the opportunity of spending some cash in
the farm or craft shops, take a look around the lovely gardens or visit the Hall
itself. There will be two meeting points, first at 10.30am for a 10.45am
departure from Morrison’s overflow car park, opposite the filling station. From
there we will drive to Fimber for 11.15am for 12noon to meet in the car
park/picnic area just to the south of Fimber roundabout on the B1248.
