This was the first time Clifford and I have attended this event, which is in its third year. The week-end started at lunchtime from the Triton Inn at Brantingham with a scenic drive, calling in at Burton Agnes Hall Tea Room on the way to our accommodation at The Old Lodge Hotel in Malton. Thanks go to the staff at the hotel for good food on Friday and Saturday evenings. The scenic drive on Saturday included a number of fords which, due to overnight rain, were in full flow. The first ford, near St. Gregory Minister, near Kirkbymoorside caused a few concerns with a couple of crews deciding not to get their cars wet. We crossed moors and stopped for lunch at Swainby before crossing back on a more northerly route. A lot of hard work goes into making route plans and thanks go to Harry and Janet Hotchkin for the Friday and Saturday routes and to Dave and Pauline Carey for Sunday’s route.

Thanks for a great week-end.
