Thank you to every one who attended Gildersome on Tuesday
evening 17th May.
What does this algebra question add up to?
nb + td + y + zb + a + b + c + rv + f + zr + zt + ztt add
frogeye, midgets, metro and a maestro
The answer a great turn out for the first Yorkshire
Centre Pride of Ownership.
Cars from all four Yorkshire Centres natters where
proudly put on show by their owners; 22 MG’s, an A35 van and a Smart Car
Roadster.
The competition was excellent depending on whether your
preference was for the old or modern type of MG, with models ranging form a
1935 NB Magnette to the very latest ZT 260 fitted with every possible extra.
What did they both have in common? Both were out of warranty.
Most cars received votes, the final result being:
|
1st |
1935 NB Magnette owned by Mr Terry Hartley
of West Yorkshire, this car being possibly the very first one made. |
|
2nd |
1955 TD owned by Mr Andrew Murfin of South
Yorkshire, who received the 2004 award for the greatest distance
travelled in this car, which was also on show in the Marquee at
Silverstone. |
|
3rd |
1957 ZB Magnette owned by Mr Keith Charlton of West
Yorkshire, this car has recently been restored and is now collecting
show prizes. |
Unfortunately, Keith Ainley’s Frogeye Sprite had a
mechanical problem en-route, arriving after the judging but I believe this
car would have been a very strong contender for a placement.
Although Alistair Naylor did not enter a car, he still
won first prize in the raffle.
This is to be a future annual event at Gildersome so get
the polish out for next year. I am sure these cars and owners will be
defending their titles as winners of :-
